3.15 MINE TRAINING SIMULATOR
_____________________
1. General: This simulator is used for simulating a live minefield, with Anti-Personnel mines. It is used for:
(a) Familiarising troops with operating in a mine field.
(b) Practicing troops in mine field breaching, making an infantry safe lane (ISL) or a vehicle safe lane (VSL), pad proving, minefield clearance, etc.
2. Details:
Items | Simulated Mines: |
---|---|
Simulated Mines:
These are dummy (drill), but working mines which are pressure-activated/ They are buried or hidden in a practice area like the original mines. When triggered by the pressure by a trainee’s foot, or a wrong mine clearing method, the mines emit a radio frequency (RF) signal that activates a loud siren on the receiver unit along with a red light identifying and displaying the exact number of mine which has been triggered. The instructor can then easily identify the mine and the trainee, and reset it after giving the necessary corrective instructions to the concerned trainee. The range for the device is currently 40-50 ft maximum but can be increased on specific requirements. |
|
Receiver Units:
These units emit a light and sound when a mine is activated. These units are placed in the control room. When a unit is activated, the instructor knows which mine is activated. The receiver unit can easily be re-set to continue the training further. |
|
Training Set:
The training set consists of the required numbers of mines and receiver units. Training sets can customized as per requirements. |
